I commented on it but I never said that, that was another user. LOS-Um, no it wasn't me. If I would have said something I would have a good memory of it. How can you accuse me of something and don't have any proof or links to back it up with? Point taken. I know what I said. The questions was "Why are filipina women better than American women?" I said, " Um, not all filpinas are cute. They're are alot of ugly ones out there" I said something to that extent. You can't accuse me of something and have no proof to it. Simple as that. Innocent till proven guilty. Sorry you can't win this arguement, you have to show some proof. Besides, I would never say anything like that. Lest your forget that there are many clones and trolls in this section? Anyways, you have me confused for someone else and I think you're being a little too sensitive for my taste. Goodnight and good luck.
I need help with my student council election? Ok, so I know you would all be wondering, how can a school have an election this time of year? Truth is my school is not having an election during this time. Before the election, which is all the way in October, i want to be prepared. I'm going into seventh grade next year and I'm planning to run for vice president. Here are some of my ideas so far: we can have different themes for activity nites since they are boring. The themes are heaven and hell, the 70's, the 80's, American Idol with people actually singing, Hawaiian/the beach,Winter Wonderland, Thriller/Halloween, and maybe even candy land, with sugar free CANDY and homemade sweets of course. Also we can have a karaoke night. - To actually earn money for these, we can have car washes and bake sales, which my school doesn't have. - we can have actually HEALTHY foods at school and maybe even replace some of the ice cream with frozen yogurt. We can also get actually fresh salad, we can have a healthy challenge day for ALL grades, and we can have a recycling day on earth day where all the kids wear gloves and look for items in the school to recycle, and the class with the most recycled items will win a prize or a pizza party or something. - We can have a spirit week with pajama day, our traditional pep rally, spirit song day(the kids in the grade can form groups and make a song about our school, that too can be a contest.), crazy hair day, crazy outfit day, dress like a celebrity day, and a sports day where everyone can play games and soprts. Since my name is safaya my slogans would be, VOTE FOR SAFAYA, TRUST ME SHE DOESN"T THINK LIKE A PAPAYA A VOTE FOR ME IS VICTORY, VOTE FOR SAFAYA, TEE HEE. A SONG DURING MY SPEECH WOULD BE: FILET OF FISH THEMED LOL GIVE ME YOUR VOTE, PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR V V VOTE YOU KNOW IF IT WERE YOU STANDING ON THIS STAGE, I WOULD G GIVE YOU MY VOTE, I WOULD G GVIE YOU MY VOTE. There is one thing I am worried about. The popular kids always run and they always win, do you think people will actually vote for me? I need all the help I can get. So please give me your opinion on my ideas and any ideas you have. K thanks bye!
Are there men who like clothes? Or are they fiction? Or only gay? I read once about a man who stated that he liked "simple women" and forced his wife to go around in the same jeans dungarees for seven years. She was allowed to buy two T-shirts a year. On the eights year of their marriage he ran away with a woman, a chorus girl who had twenty different dress gowns only and a ton of other clothes. So, on one hand, they want "someone down to earth", on the other, they want a woman who is dressed well, and what not. They HATE fashion magazines, I never could understand why - it seems to be a legitimate excuse for staring at pretty, well dressed girls. No do they appreciate an effort. What with sales, and discount cards, and club cars and what not, you can be stunning at about 100-150 a month. If you put on something new, they do not even notice, and if you tell them that it is an original Armani, and you got it for twenty bucks at a factory outlet, they look distracted. But OTHER men seems to appreciate it. It's like they expect you to look good without any effort or money. You just drop on their lap all groomed. AND they stare all the time at the well dressed well groomed celebrities, but if YOU try, they smirk, criticize, whine, wonder why you even bother. Surely you can't get both. You either try, and invest time and money in finding a bargain and looking good, or you do not try, and look like a scarecrow. How do they expect women to look good without doing anything about it? worked as a model once - and there are NO girls/women who look good "as if" everyone needs something done to this area or that

Spirit Week Themes Please? Okay, so my spirit week just passed. :( And my friend & I want to be dance captains next year. But we need to come up with a fool proof theme. We do it like this: -There is one overall theme (this year was cities) -Each year & faculty gets a city (Los Angelos, New York, Miami, Chicago, & Texas) -Each year also gets a hallway to decorate for their city (while incorporating the other years' cities too- for all inclusiveness) -Each year has to make up a dance with songs having to do with their theme (L.A.- Hollywood Swing, Party in the USA, Beverly Hills, Bounce, etc.) -We can be as creative as we want, using props and doing little skits. (L.A.- People dressed up as celebrities & lip synced and whatnot. There was a hollywood sign, etc.) -Each year must make a step & cheer to their theme. -A Tshirt is designed by a student for their theme. (Judged on best design & most sales). Obviously, I had L.A. this year. But I want a really good theme for next year. Can anyone help?
How would you describe my personal style? I'm trying to develop a more defined "personal style." I'm 22, 5'4, 110 pounds, dark blonde, blue eyes if this helps. I like to wear basics and mix them up a little bit. I really like girly/feminine things like ruffles and floral, and boho/hippie styles like long skirts, tie dye and paisley. I really like jeans of all kinds -- skinny and bootcut in dark and light rinses (my favorite jeans are Joe's and Sevens, but I just got a light destroyed boyfriend pair from Madewell that I am sure I will wear a lot!). I also like full mini skirts and maxi dresses. I'm not that into shoes -- I usually wear colored Converses (pink or purple), ballet flats or riding boots. I'm also not that into accessories -- I have my nose pierced, wear the same necklace and bracelet every day, and usually earrings but I mix those up more. Most of my clothes are probably from J.Crew, American Apparel and Urban Outfitters, or department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales (sale items only!). On a typical day I'm probably wearing jeans, a tshirt, a ruffly cardigan and a fun scarf. For jackets I either wear a fleece or a short cute wool coat but I really want a leather jacket (or faux-leather since I'm a veggie). Is my style boring? I definitely do wear all of the regular girl "uniform" things of Uggs, Seven jeans, Longchamp tote or Coach cross-body bag (not the kind with the "C"s all over it), Mountain Hardwear fleece, etc. but I don't want to look cookie-cutter. I grew up in a really preppy area and was very preppy in high school (I basically only wore J.Crew, Polo and Lilly Pulitzer) but I'm not like that anymore. But I'm also not that "trendy" -- I like leggings, boyfriend jeans and maxi dresses right now, but don't really buy into trends unless I honestly like them and they will last for a long time. I also like really cute things -- I ordered this Swatch watch, for example: http://image.www.rakuten.co.jp/parksgallery/img1006519081.jpeg I'm not really into following celebrities' style but I really love anything Whitney Port or the Olsen twins wear. How would you describe my style? Do you like it? Is it too boring? What would you think of me if you saw me on the street? Where should I shop? What items do you think would fit well into my wardrobe? Appreciate any input! I know it's a lot haha ... I ramble. I also really love glitter and sequins! Ha, laughing at the person who said mentioning the Olsens is "so 15." They have great style! And are very respected by adults, I don't think they are even popular among teenagers now. I grew up in VA, went to school in Chicago, and have lived in Paris, New York and Atlanta ... kind of diverse I guess but no west coast!
Where to find this dress? I'm looking for the dress that Scarlett Johansson is wearing on the cover of the January issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. It's a purple OMO Norma Kamali lace dress, and I've looked on the designer's website they list in the magazine, but it doesn't show it for sale there. http://www.gotceleb.com/wp-content/uploads/celebrities/scarlett-johansson/cosmopolitan-magazine-january-2012/Scarlett%20Johansson%20-%20Cosmopolitan%20Magazine-03-560x764.jpg I don't really want to buy it, it's probably heinously expensive, but I'd still like to know where you could buy it. I've looked everywhere...
what do you think of my essay? Right, so i'm 13 and i'm doing my english GCSE a year early. this is my first EVER essay on media and its about two advertisements for two different perfumes found in Bliss Magazine. I know its rubbish, you dont need to tell me that. haha. if you could give me any suggestions on how to improve/constructive critizism/corrections on punctuation etc. pleaaase help me. thank you. SORRY ITS SO LENGTHY.. YOU DONT NEED TO READ IT ALL. THANKS. Following your close study on Bliss, comment on and compare advertisement features within the magazine that you feel are successful The publishers of Bliss magazine obviously have a clear idea of their target audience. Not only do the bright, girly colours and photographs of current and popular celebrities suggest that it is aimed at teenage girls but also the name 'bliss'- meaning extreme happiness, suggests femininity and youth. The magazine is most likely aimed at females in there early adolescent years and possibly even preteens; perhaps with ages varied between twelve and fifteen. They also know that it is important to appeal to the target audience and so have used a wide range of presentational features to ensure this is achievable; some of these include the colour scheme, lay-out, fonts and images. All of the devices used are not only suitable for the Bliss readers, but also for the purpose of the magazine which is to entertain, give advice, advertise and ultimately sell. The content usually includes pages based on celebrity gossip, news, fashion tips, interviews and “problem pages” all of which have been designed for the purpose and target audience. Obviously, their main priority is to sell and so they approach the potential buyer bribing them with a “free gift”. They also design the front cover making sure the expensive price tag is the least eyecatching part and is over-powered by other feautures. Some would say that magazines such as Bliss can be quite misleading because they lure the shopper into buying it and are only interested in the money that they will be receiving. Another way that the company attempts to increase their profits is by advertising. In the December issue of Bliss Magazine that we have previously studied, two similar advertisements are displayed, both of which are trying to appeal to the same target audience as Bliss Magazine itself which is why they have chosen to advertise in this particular area of the media. The first advertisement is for Avril Lavigne’s perfume “Black star”. Already, the name suggests a lot about the product. For example; you would imagine it to be gothic and dark because those are the connotations of the colour black. Despite the gothic style, pink is used in the colour scheme to make sure that it can appeal to more than just one group of people and produce more sales. Pink is also a typical feminine colour and so is suitable for the target audience. The name “black star” contradicts itself because stars are never usually described as black, therefore creating a sense of uniqueness and individuality which is something many teenagers aspire to be. The wording “be your own star”, tells the reader that buying the perfume can help you to become everything you want to be, therefore making it very persuasive. They also do this by styling Avril Lavigne to look like her perfume bottle. She models a short pink dress with finishing touches including a studded belt, fish net tights and a shinny, silver bangle and is posed to look powerful which breaks the weak and innocent stereotype of a typical girl. Similarly, the bottle is pink and shaped like the dress with a black, star shaped lid which reflects the belt that she is wearing. By mirroring the perfume bottle in her clothes and accessories, it suggests to the target audience that by wearing the perfume, they too can be like Avril Lavigne. The second of the two advertisements is about Coleen Rooney’s perfume. It has been styled carefully to look sophisticated and elegant. By using shades of purple rather than pink, it is still able to attract girls but looks more mature and grown up. The advertisement displays a photograph of Coleen, showing her slim, attractive outline and is airbrushed to make her look “perfect”. The contrast of Coleen against outlines of dancers in the background gives the impression of her “standing out”. Like Avril Lavignes perfume, the bottle is very similarly designed to mirror Coleen’s dress. Both Coleen and the bottle are plain black and very graceful. The positioning of the perfume on the advertisement feature stands slightly behind the photograph of Coleen and is larger than her. By doing this, it familiarises the audience with the product so they know what to look for when buying it. Written on the bottle is “Coleen x” in a handwriting style font and a “kiss” symbol to add a personal touch and a sense of trust and sharing. The products that are being advertised are both quite similar, however; although the target audiences a
