What Did You Do For Your Sweet Sixteen? Or What Do You Plan To?
This is an odd topic for me. Ever since I was a little girl, I had dreamed of the day that I turned sixteen. I would be dressed in a princess-like gown, rushing down the red-carpeted stairs of some mansion; doves flying all around me and people surrounding the area and clapping at my presence. I would be then ushered away by two incredibly handsome "men" in tuxedos that you would only find in a Calvin Klein add and into a limousine. I would dance the night away at some fancy club and then return home to find a shiny new car sitting in the driveway with a huge red bow on it. Well, as you can probably already tell... it never turned out that way. In fact, if I recall, I stayed at home that night by myself. Oh sorry, I forgot-- a few nights before I saw a small concert with one of my friends (not on my actual birthdate). And that was it. So what about you? Am I the only one that had dreams of partying as the rich and famous, only to sit at home and eat the night away? What did YOU do?

- nothing (: I'm also going to sit at home, but it doesn't bother me. idk, maybe earlier i'm going to go to an art museum or six flags... or work. :P Well, you did kind of celebrated your birthday. Going to a concert is awesome, even if it is a small one, and not everybody can afford a huge party. Guess what? It's only one night. The next night... it's over, and you're left with tons of bills and a headache.
- nothing. i plan to act like any other birthday. 16 is not that different from 15.
- Mine isn't till October so I don't know what i'm going to do yet, but most of my friends have had theirs already. A lot of them just went out for dinner with a whole bunch of people but here are some other ones: My friends that are twins had a formal party, it was at this place they rented out and everyone got really dressed up and it was basically a formal dance, there was a DJ for the music, but there was also food and a drink fountain, and slideshow stuff, and them and a few of their closest friends went in a limo, it was the coolest sweet sixteen i've been to lol pretty much more then anyone could ask for living in a small city haha. Another friend went out for dinner with a bunch of people and then we all went to this hayride thing (it was winter) and there was a bonfire and stuff and then after some girls stayed at this hotel thing for a sleepover, it was pretty fun too.. and then my other friend got to take me with her and her mom to Toronto for the weekend for shopping and to see Dirty Dancing that was soooo much fun too, the most fun lol.
- I did nothing for my 16th birthday and I had no big dreams about it.
- Absolutely nothing. Materialism isn't my thing. In the grand scheme of things, 16 is nothing to celebrate. My family did surprise me and came over to cut a cake. I didn't want them to fuss (tough times)...but they decided to celebrate my little cousin's birthday at my house as well =/ It was nice seeing them around though.
