Is this formal attire?

We have a xmas party at a posh hotel.. am not comfortable wearing gown.. everyone is going to wear one.. what i decidd to wear is a metallic short dress with a satin bolero, killer hills and crystal accesories.. will that be ok? I have seen red carpet photos and short or mini dresses are worn.. just want t have a 2md opinion.. oh btw my dress is color black/gray metallic. thanks:)

7. It sounds a tad innapropriate for a posh party. Your going to have to get a longer dress. Try to stay away from all sequined items, its too much.
8. Sounds a bit informal to me, but women can get away with it more so than guys. As long as it is not 'trampy' then I am sure no one at the party will mind, everyone hates formal anyways. I am sure only the women would have anything to say, but they'd do that behind your back and regardless of what you wear more than likely anyways :p

10. It is nice looking, but you might feel a little out of place if every1 wearing one. Opt for a gown, but do your own twist.

12. sounds like your set. you'll be fine, but make sure the crystals aren't overdone so that they look hookerish.
