Why do some people care about the way a celebrity dresses?

Not in a sense that sets a bad example for younger fans who look to the celebrities as role modals but, in a sense where critics criticize celebrities for a bad choice in wardrobe as far as fashion sense is concerned.

1. Because they have no lives and would rather watch somebody live theirs. No offense to the people who really care about the way someone else dresses...
2. Those critics get paid to do something that doesn't involve skill or talent. It's a lot easier to criticize someone's fashion sense than it is to look in the mirror and realize you don't look too much better. (Joan Rivers, ahem!)
