How should I do my eye makeup for prom?
Amethyst colored gown in satin. I was thinking of a Natalie portman 2009 oscar makeup, but her dress was a lot lighter in color would it work for my dress (amethyst)? Im oriental by the way. with medium skin..i just spent the whole day outside.

- use an eye liner do threading
- i think you should do a soft smokey eye that always looks nice with light colored gloss and some coral colored blush
- Hi why not go with olive green as your accent color for your eye makeup? Olive looks great with most asian women's skin background, and it should pick up the glints in your eyes. Another tip would be to go deep purple like a plum or even eggplant eye shadow. Stay away from pinks, and pinky purple as your undertone is most likely a yellowy or a olive undertone being asian--however you can chose to get the same drama look with liquid black eye liner or if you want a softer look: brown, or deep brown or even a brown/black if you can find it. Same color matching mascara You will need 3 eye shadows in various shads of each other. Covergirl & Mary Kay both have shade selections right now for your eye color helping you chose easier. You can simply find the colors that each make up line suggests and then purchase whatever brand you want going forward. Another option is to go to a store like Sephora or have an inhome consultation with a direct sales rep such as mary Kay or Airborne or Beauty Control and try products for free prior to purchase. The larger dept stores also offer this at their makeup counters. Try different versions of the same "look"--take a photo in and say--this is the drama look I"m going for--if you say the same colors--it won't work as you say you DO have a different color than Natalie Portman. Another tip--don't try to match the same eye shadow to your dress--while a good idea in theory--it may not create the desired effect and only works for a small percentage of the population. You can though go with the same color family.
